Pain Is Not The Enemy

Many people run from pain…others embrace it and learn from it.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that in order to be really good at anything you’ve got to be challenged…you’ve got to struggle…and you’ve got to deal with a shit load of pain.

Pain sucks in a sense…but after you’ve suffered for a while, however, you’ll begin to see pain for what it really is: your greatest ally and the best teacher.

You see, without the pain, you would remain weak and unprepared for the more difficult quests and battles that await as you go through your progression through life as a person.

When it comes to working out and lifting…the same logic applies.

If it doesn’t hurt, it probably isn’t doing you a whole bunch of good…neither physically, mentally or emotionally.

When the weight is heavy as fuck and you have to struggle to lift it off the ground…it is one of the best things that can ever happen to you.

If it was super easy and you could just throw the weight around effortlessly and cruise through your workout…you wouldn’t learn anything. 

Your ego would probably run wild and you’d develop a false sense of strength & power…which would inevitably leave you weak, defenseless and vulnerable for the more difficult battles and adversity that may come later.

These weaker, unprepared players are usually taken off the board fairly quickly.

Pay attention closely, and you’ll often find that the gym…the weights…the pain…that constant battle against gravity & the laws of physics – it can be one of your greatest life teachers.

It teaches you about yourself…it shows you what you’re made of…you’ll learn patience, perseverance, and discipline – but most important of all…it teaches you how to be a fighter and battle your way through pain and adversity.

It teaches you how to win and consistently level up.

So when things go south…when you have to deal with a setback, roadblock, or any sort of adversity in life, you’ll remember that nothing can be as bad as the pain you’ve already dealt with in the gym – and if you can survive that pain…that grind…you’re strong enough overcome anything.

That right there is your true superpower – but only if you can unlock it.
